This is the day the Lord has made.   We will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalms 118:24)

This week has been one of those times where my days seemed to not go as I had planned. Small interruptions here and there which threw me off my “to do” list. There are still several items that remain there glaring at me unaccomplished. So, I have a choice to make, stress over it or let it go, trusting God has each of my days planned as they should be.

I was reminded through a devotional by Sarah Young, Jesus Calling, that we need to face each day with open hands of faith. God is waiting to lead our every day and we need to prepare ourselves to receive his blessings. I am quick to complain when things don’t go quite the way I desire, but we should give praise, for even the rain is a gift from God. “The best way to handle unwanted situations is to thank God for them. This act of faith frees you from resentment and frees God to work His ways into the situation, so that good emerges from it.” (pg. 106)

Today, let’s enjoy a Sabbath rest and look forward to what God has in store for us. I pray you will enjoy your day and know that God has abundant blessings waiting for you.  If you are like me, it is hard sometimes to let go of your to do list. I am learning more and more that I need to plan a little less and learn to lean on God for His idea for my day. But, as the text says below, I have not yet achieved it, but I am striving on.

13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Philippians 3:13-14)

Happy Sabbath!
