"...not just another church,
but a caring congregation..."

 | How we began... The Miamisburg Seventh-day
Adventist Church began when a group of Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church members
envisioned a new church in the area of Sycamore Hospital. In 1979, this group arranged to
meet on Saturdays in the St. James United Methodist Church building.
|
 | Officially chartered... Approximately one
year later, on September 6, 1980, the church was officially chartered.
|
 | Let's build!... In 1987, plans were launched
toward building a permanent church home located only a mile away on the Sycamore Hospital
campus where it also could serve the hospital community and Sycamore Glen Retirement
Community. At the June 9, 1996, groundbreaking, the church was challenged to "not be
just another church, but a caring congregation, offering love and forgiveness as God does,
with a work that will never be completed as long as there are people who need God."
|
 | Our new church home... We moved into our new church
home on the Sycamore Hospital campus in April, 1997. Two months later, on June 7, 1997,
all seats were filled to capacity at the opening celebration and dedication. (A second,
smaller celebration took place in December, 1997, when the new padded pews were installed,
providing sanctuary seating for 220.)
|
 | Where we are now... A warm and
friendly church family of 137 who are active in the church and in the community, the Miamisburg Seventh-day
Adventist Church seeks to continue a climate of hospitality where people can enjoy God's
healing acceptance, be understood and appreciated, and discover their gifts in the service
of Christ, in anticipation of his soon coming.
|
 | And now the children... In the belief that
family is an essential focus of the Christian life, the church opened the Miamisburg
Christian Learning Center in 1998 to provide quality Christian child care along with
educational experiences for children ages 3-5 and to help meet the child care needs of
the Miamisburg/West Carrollton area. Staffed by qualified, professional individuals, the
day care program offers full-time and part-time enrollment and now includes
before and after school care.
|
 | Dedication... On
February 21, 2004, the Miamisburg Seventh-day Adventist Church shared the
Church Dedication and Mortgage Burning with the Miamisburg community. Mayor
Dick Church and Ohio Conference President Raj Attiken offered challenges to
the congregation for the future.
